Student Assessment Information:

This page contains testing information for grades K - 12.  Y  If you have any questions about district testing, please contact Mrs. Amy Olivieri, District Testing Coordinator, at 330-706-2730.

Students participate in the Ohio State Testing Program.  Beginning in third and fourth grades, students take state assessments in English/language arts and mathematics. Students in fifth and eighth grades take a state assessment in English/language arts, mathematics, and science, while students in sixth and seventh grades take a state assessment in English/language arts and mathematics. Students at the high school level have to take end of course exams in English/language arts, algebra, geometry, biology, American History, and American Government.

More about the Ohio assessment program can be found here:

In addition, students in first through seventh grades take a diagnostic assessment three times per year in reading and mathematics. This test is the MAP (Measure of Academic Progress). More information about the MAP assessment can be found here: https://www.nwea.org/map-growth/

At the second and fourth grade, the district gives the InView tests for determining whether students are eligible for gifted identification and services as superior cognitive.  The state sets strict criteria as to what scores produce gifted designations.
More on gifted education can be found on the ODE website:

Additionally, high school students can participate in the ASVAB, PSAT, SAT and ACT.
