Resources for Families

During the current Covid-19 shelter-in-place order and school closings, we would like families to know about various resources available to assist them.  Although several service organizations are not available to help at this time, we have compiled a list of organizations that are still actively serving our community.  Please click here to access these resources.

May Student of the Month

Congratulations to Ben Coughenour for being named Student of the Month for May at Norton High School! Ben pulls off the difficult double of taking College Credit Plus classes through the University of Akron while also enrolled in the Criminal Science and Technology career tech program at Barberton High School. While in high school, Ben has played basketball and baseball, been involved in student government, as well as a member of the drama department. He also currently has a job at Acme.  Ben's future plans include attending the University of Akron and majoring in business marketing while also participating in leadership training for Young Life which is a non-profit youth outreach ministry. He's also real excited to start up his band (which currently has no name) and start playing shows in the area. Congratulations Ben!

Career Tech Student of the Month

Congratulations to Shelby Owens for being named the Career Tech Student of the Month at Norton High School. Shelby has flourished the last two years in the STNA program at Barberton High School. She was a member of the color guard through her junior year and has several hobbies including hunting, fishing and taking care of lots of animals. Shelby is currently working in a nursing home. After graduation, she plans on working full time at a nursing home as an STNA (state tested nursing assistant) with the goals of furthering her education to become an RN. Congratulations Shelby!
