School districts in the United States are given federal money to provide supplemental instruction to children. The goal of Title 1 is to help children meet the state's educational standards.
In Norton, as in other districts, our focus is on reading. Grade levels served are kindergarten through second at the elementary buildings.
                        We follow state and federal guidelines with regard to program design, selection of students, program evaluation, and parent involvement.We actively encourage parents to work with children at home, to attend school conferences, and to communicate with the classroom teacher as well as the Title 1 teacher.
                        Parents may request information regarding the professional qualifications of the student's classroom teacher and Title 1 teacher.
