Good Morning Kindergarten Parents-
I wanted to follow up with some additional information to further explain the upcoming changes at Norton Primary as we move from Remote Learning to In-Person Hybrid schedule depending on which instructional path you choose.
Kindergarten students and families will have two instructional learning paths to choose from:
If you wish to remain in Remote Learning you will be able to do so and you need to understand that your child’s current teacher will change to a Remote Learning teacher. We currently have seven Kindergarten teachers that are teaching Remotely which we will transition to six In-Person teachers and one Remote Learning teacher based on our commitment survey results.
In-Person instruction on a daily basis, five days a week, in the AM (A-K) or PM (L-Z) class based on the alphabet split. Kindergarten students will continue to receive Reading Room support with Mrs. Ranier and their Specials with Mr. Genis, Dr. Stewart, and Mrs. Wert via remote instruction when they are not in the actual building. If you borrowed a chrome book you will want to keep this device to continue to participate in Reading Room and Specials while students are not in the actual building (please see the tentative schedule below).

Important Dates:
Week of September 21st- Commitment Surveys will be shared with Kindergarten families by each Kindergarten teacher on Monday afternoon, September 21st. Please complete this survey upon receipt and all surveys are due by Wednesday, September 23rd. This information is crucial for your completion so that we can adjust class lists, set up classrooms, and to adjust building schedules for In-Person learning and Remote Learning.
Week of September 28th- This will be the last week of Remote Learning for Kindergarten families unless you choose to remain in Remote Learning instructional path. We will have the last round of Supplemental materials in the lobby starting on Friday, September 25 at 8:00 AM for you to pick up through the weekend.
Week of October 5th- This will be the first week of In-Person learning if families choose this option. If you choose to continue with Remote Learning this will be the first week for Remote Learning with the new teacher.
In- Person Schedule Times:
AM Classes (Red Cohort)- In Person Learning 9:05-11:40 AM. Students with last names beginning with A-K will attend school everyday from 9:05-11:40 AM. Car riders can be dropped off at 8:45 AM at the office entrance of the building.
PM Classes (White Cohort)- In Person Learning 1:05-3:40 PM. Students with last names beginning with L-Z will attend school every day from 1:05-3:40 PM. Car riders can be dropped off 12:35 PM at the office entrance of the building.
