Welcome Back To School!!

Parent Information for the 2021-2022 School Year

Welcome parents to the 2021-2022 school year! We are excited to welcome our Norton families back to school and provide opportunities for you to tour the building and meet our teachers and staff. There are a variety of options available depending on your needs. Please contact the office if you have specific questions or have specific needs that we can assist you with.

Forms Day/Open House Details

Much thought has gone into how to meet the needs of the families in regards to open house this year while keeping safety in mind. Feel free to engage in any/all of the following.

8/10 Forms Day 9:00 am - 3:00 pm- Families can tour the building (classrooms closed), view class lists, and talk to principals and the school nurse. Students will also have the opportunity to have their school picture taken. Forms are to be completed online but we will have computers available.

8/17 Evening Take a Peek - Our building and classrooms will be open Tuesday, August 17 from 4:30-6:00 PM for students and families to come by, see their classrooms, and drop off any supplies. This is a great informal opportunity to get a quick peek at classrooms. Please note that teachers won’t be available during this evening Take-a-Peek.

8/18 Open House - Open House is scheduled for Wednesday, August 18. To accommodate families while providing additional spacing, we are offering the designated times: 10:30 am - 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm. We are encouraging families to attend at any point during the designated time and to keep interactions brief to allow for adequate spacing.

Welcome email from teacher -  Please be on the lookout for communication from your child’s teacher via email prior to the first day of school with necessary details about your class. This email should include a picture of the teacher or a short introductory video that will help students identify with the teacher prior to the first day of school.

Class Lists

Class lists will be released to parents on August 10. Class lists will be posted around the building.

Covid Safety and Mask Guidance

Please reference the guidance from Mr. Addis regarding safety precautions and masks.

Arrival/Dismissal Procedures

The arrival/dismissal procedures will remain the same for the 2021-2022 school year. Study table will not be available. Students will be able to enter the cafeteria beginning at 8:25 AM. Breakfast and lunch will be available at no cost again this year.

District Spirit Opportunity

Norton Panther Families - as promised in last Friday's Community Newsletter, the district is offering the opportunity to purchase Norton Panther Stickers that are perfect for a car or home window.  There are two different ways to purchase the decals, and all of that is explained in this document: Community Static Stickers.pdf   As mentioned on Friday, we are having some technical issues with the pdf documents opening on our SchoolMessenger system, so this same document will be posted on our website as well.

For now, each building has 50 decals, and they cost $3 each.

Let us know if you have any questions, and Go Panthers.
