Language Arts
In fifth grade language arts we will be using the Reading Street textbook to read fiction, nonfiction, biographies, plays, and poetry. We will also read the bookEleven Birthdays. Each quarter the students will be responsible for completing 4 independent book projects for books they have read on their own from various genres. See the fifth grade website for the current directions for these projects.
We will have spelling tests on most Fridays. See the fifth grade website for the current lists.
Class Rules
1. Come in quietly and work at your desk.
2. Have all supplies and be ready to work. This includes your reading book, green folder, pleasure book, notebook, planner, pencils, paper, pens, colored pencils, scissors, and glue.
3. Have all assignments completed and turned in on time.
4. Raise your hand and wait to be called on before talking.
5. Follow all directions given by all teachers.
6. Be courteous to others.
