SCHOOL NURSE’S NOTES

SHOULD I KEEP MY CHILD HOME FROM SCHOOL TODAY?

YES, if he/she has:

þ Severe Cough

þ Severe Cold

þ Undetermined Rash

þ Temperature of 100 degrees or higher

within the last 24 hours (must be fever

free for 24 hours without the use of

fever reducing medication)

þ Diarrhea within the last 24 hours

þ Sore throat—difficulty swallowing

þ Red, watery, burning, itching eyes

þ Vomiting within the last 24 hours

The above symptoms/conditions may mean the start of a communicable disease or other condition that could affect many of the other children in your child’s classroom. Also, your child may be too sick to learn in school with any of the above symptoms. To prevent illness from spreading, it is recommended that you keep your child home with the above symptoms.
