Norton High School has earned a spot on the College Board's AP Honor Roll. This award recognizes school districts that simultaneously achieved increases in access to Advanced Placement courses for a broader number of students and also maintained or improved the rate at which their AP students earned scores of 3 or higher on an AP Exam. In essence, during the 2016-2017 school year, Norton High School students had a higher participation rate during the AP testing sessions in May than in previous years and maintained or improved their scores. This is a great honor for our students, our teachers, our building leadership and our district. What's important is that student growth and desire to be challenged begins when a student enters our district. AP testing - which occurs much later in their lives - is one of the measurements we can use to determine our students' and district's desire to compete locally and nationally with other districts.Only 32 school districts in the state, and only 447 districts in US and Canada achieved this honor. Congratulations to NHS, but also to all of our teachers for their educational influence throughout their academic lives as a Norton Panther. Also, congratulations to the Norton community for their support. It's important that this community continues to not only support the district, but also to push us and establish high expectations.
