Good Morning Norton Families this is Dana Addis,
Superintendent of Schools.
All
week, school districts across the US have been dealing with copycat messages
and emails about their school districts.
School officials, along with local police departments, get to work on
deciding whether or not a posted threat is legitimate. I woke up this morning to an email that had a
copycat threat being made to Norton high school today. I am calling you this morning to tell you
that the school district and the Norton police do not consider this to be a
warranted threat. If for one second, we
felt any part of the district was in danger I would tell you directly. The Norton administration, along with the
Norton police, have had conversations this week relating to this situation and
again do not see any creditability in the online post. As a show of support for the district and as
a safety precaution, our local police force will be a positive presence in all
our buildings today. The reason for the
call this morning is that your sons and daughters might see this post online,
and I wanted to provide guidance to all of you that we are aware and have gone
through all of the necessary steps in analyzing it. Thank you for your continued support as we
work together through a unique time.
Have a great Friday.
